Little Black Dress Books - Dating Disasters

Claire Wingate (the star of I'm In No Mood For Love by Rachel Gibson) is in No Mood For Love because, lets face it , when you catch your fiancé making out with the washing machine repair man (!!) love is the last thing on your mind. Now the Little Black Dress team can’t quite compete with Claire’s dreadful discovery, but we can get pretty d*mn close. So here, for your amusement, are our own top dating horror stories:

My worst ever date was actually last Wednesday with a guy I had been seeing for a couple of months. We both had a day off from work so I thought we could do some Christmas shopping & we ended up in Bournemouth. I so wish I hadn’t bothered as he had been quiet and moody for a few days, but he barely said 2 words to me all day I might as well have been shopping by myself, then when we got home he made me drop him off on the side of the road so I wouldn’t have to go to his house, even though he knew I had a few hours to spare. I came home from work on the Friday to find a message on the Facebook website dumping me! How classy is that?! But at least I know I am much better off without him.

When away at college I was asked out by a DJ from our local bar, we arranged to go to dinner and he said he would pick me up which was really nice except that he turned up on his motorbike! As I went back upstairs to change out of my mini skirt, I could hear my friends laughing downstairs as they opened the door to him, I soon found out why as I came downstairs to find that my dream guy was about a foot shorter than me ( I am 5"2 )! turns out that they have a box he stands on in the DJ booth!

Not letting that stop me, I carry on with the date, after all what does it matter if he was short its what's inside that counts, right? However when our romantic meal turned out to be Burger King and then back to his I was less than impressed, especially as when he was trying to get me in to bed his wife and kids came home and I had to scoot out the back way! Needless to say I did not see him again and I found a new place to drink!!

How about finding out that during our dinner my date had been texting his ex-wife. Every time he went to the restroom he'd been asking her for advice! Worse, I found out after reading her blog! Even though he's a nice man, I've decided to let him go as I don't want to end up as a character in her blog.
